I am a feminist because

"... when I was running for office, I called the local domestic violence agency and said I would like to be of help. Issues affecting women are often thought of as women's issues, but I know it's important for men to be involved in these issues, too. Gender should not matter."

Peter is a state representative from Waltham who has received numerous accolades from women's groups for his work on domestic violence issues, emergency contraception for victims of sexual assault, and prochoice issues. He is the only male on the Waltham Business and Professional Women’s Club and received NARAL's first Trailblazer award this year.
